Sister Mary Joetta Sneider entered into her eternal home on Monday, June 19, 2017 at Rosary Care Center in Sylvania. Sister was 89 years of age (March 31, 1928) and in her 68th year of Religious Profession (August 16, 1949). May she rest in peace and may she experience the fullness of eternal life.

JoAnn was born on March 31, 1928 to Bernard and Frances (Borer) Sneider in Toledo, Ohio. A 1946 graduate of Notre Dame Academy she received degrees from Mary Manse College and the University of Dayton and attended the University of Toledo for guidance/counseling certification.
Sister became a professed Sister of Notre Dame in 1949. Her ministry assignments included 15 years as a teacher in Catholic elementary schools in Toledo, Delphos, Bellevue, Fostoria and Sandusky. The next 21 years Sister Mary Joetta was a high school mathematics teacher and guidance counselor at Catholic high schools in Norwalk, Sandusky, and Note Dame Academy. She served in the business office of the Sisters of Notre Dame for ten years and in pastoral ministry to the sick and elderly at St. Joseph, Fremont for 11 years and for two years at St. Michael, Gibsonburg.
Preceding her in death are her parents, her brothers – Bernard, James, Richard and Robert, and sisters – Mary Alice Sneider, Barbara Mackley and Catherine Nowakowski. She is survived by her sister-in-law Helen Sneider and many nieces and nephews, and the Sisters of Notre Dame in the Toledo Province.
