Throughout the Scriptures we are reminded time and again that God has a unique design for each of our lives. By your baptism you are called to holiness, that is, to live and love as Jesus. How you respond to God’s call will determine the choices you make and can ultimately lead to your happiness and fulfillment. Discerning your vocation is about listening intently to God’s deepest desires for you.
Most important in all discernment is the deep personal relationship you develop with Jesus Christ. This relationship will lead you to a life of prayer and service as you mirror the attitudes and actions of Jesus to the world.
You may be at a crossroads in your life and asking, “God, what are you calling me to do with my life?” Whether you are in high school, college, or a post-college career, you have the opportunity to discover what Pope John Paul II once said, “Do you think that there can be anything greater than to bring Jesus to people and people to Jesus?” Some feel called to live the truth of this message as consecrated women religious. The joy and wonder of such a call can be seen in the lives of many and may be the invitation God is holding out to you.
