And a voice came from heaven, “You are my beloved Son, with you I am well pleased.”
Revisit the moment of your baptism–
The priest breathed on you and said:“May the powers of darkness, which the divine Redeemer hath vanquished by his cross, retire before you, that you may see to what hope, and to what an exceeding glorious inheritance among the saints, you are called.
Then, the priest signing your forehead and breast with the sign of the cross said:“Receive on your forehead the sign of the holy cross +, to remind you that you openly profess your faith in Christ crucified, and glory not, save only in the cross of Jesus Christ our Lord. I sign you on the breast with the sign of the holy cross +, to remind you that you love from your heart him who died on the cross for you, and that as he bids you to take up your cross and follow him.
Then the priest, placing in the mouth of the child a little salt, which he has signed with the sign of the cross said:(your name), receive this salt as an emblem of wisdom; the Lord grant it to you unto everlasting life.
Then, the priest, anointing your head, hands and heart with the baptismal water said: “I baptize you in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.”
Just let that ritual provide a new appreciation for your baptism.
Heritage word—“In Jesus, a new world has come to birth. And for us, a new way of living goes with it.”
