THURSDAY — April 12

“It happened that one of the Twelve,
Thomas (the name means ‘Twin’),
was absent when Jesus came.

The other disciples kept telling him:
‘We have seen the Lord!’

His answer was,
‘I’ll never believe it
without probing the nail-prints in his hands,
without putting my finger in the nail-marks
and my hand into his side.’”

Is there a “doubting Thomas” in you?

What keeps you from really believing Jesus’ words or actions in your life?

Hold a crucifix in your hands and ponder what Jesus endured for love of YOU; then respond as your heart moves you.

Heritage word—“Christians are those who let God clothe them with goodness and mercy, with Christ, so as to become, like Christ, servants of God and others.”

(Pope Francis, Lent 2015)
