“Then the righteous will answer him and say, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? When did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? When did we see you ill or in prison and visit you?’ And the king will say to them in reply, ‘Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of the least of mine, you did for me.’”
Spend a little time today contemplating the devastation due to natural disasters and war.
How did or will you reach out to any people affected by them? By prayer? By service? By giving a donation?
Hold before God our brothers and sisters suffering from devastating / dehumanizing situations and pray that their spirits remain courageous and hope-filled, not broken.
Heritage word—“Consider yourself happy that the good God is willing to use you. See everything that happens to you as coming from him.”
(St. Julie Billiart, Spiritual Mother of the Sisters of Notre Dame)
